Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects on the health, in particular organ and nerve lesions, of workers exposed for a long time to pesticides. Method: Over a three-year period, 20 participants were investigated using clinical and para-clinical standard procedures. Results: No significant health effects were observed. The pulmonary function was not disturbed. Increased liver enzymes and sonographic findings were influenced by alcohol abuse and surplus weight. Occasionally, pathological nerve velocity rates were associated with beginning polyneuropathy. Conclusions: In pesticide sprayers an exact anamnesis (alcohol, other private exposure) and neurological status should be documented during occupational health check-ups. If a beginning nerve lesion is suspected, patients should consult a neurological specialist.
