Mental and psychosomatic disorders often result in long periods of inability to work and thus in a considerable challenge in terms of social policy and health policy for each and every company. This challenge can only be met efficiently through new integrative concepts of health care based on multidisciplinary co-operation. The following article introduces an innovative approach for reintegrating employees suffering from psychosocial restrictions which was jointly developed by the Health Services of Volkswagen AG, Wolfsburg plant, in co-operation with IREHA, Institute for Innovative Rehabilitation, Hospital Management and Medical Stress Medicine at the Berolina Clinic in Löhne near Bad Oeynhausen and with IBT, Institute for Counselling and Therapy, located at Dinklar near Hildesheim with the cooperation of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund and Braunschweig-Hannover. Based on a systemically designed algorithm, every person affected is offered a module of health care and assistance which is not only appropriate for his individual situation and personal needs, but in addition makes possible a dynamic and individualized adaptation to the specific living and working situation of the individual employee during the course of the care.
