A new return-to-work therapy (RTW therapy) is described which involves pragmatic case management by the responsible insurance company for all the employees involved. It applies for all employment sectors and is an individual mixture of (a) curative and rehabilitative medicine, (b) integrative psychotherapy, (c) modern case management procedures, (d) training elements. The main idea is the progressive improvement of the employee’s empowerment in cooperation with insurances and employers. First results show an overall return-to-work quota of about 52%. Future developments in RTW therapy will create specific support for better motivation of ambivalent employees.
