At workplaces with collaborative robot systems, workers and robots work closely together. This human-robot cooperation poses new questions with regard to the prevention of accidents. ISO 10218 has been created in recognition of those particular hazards and contains technical regulations. The risk assessment must provide an evaluation of the whole workplace including robots, tools, workpieces, and the work environment. The extent of occupational medical examinations depends on the result of the risk analysis and the worker’s individual health constitution. So far, there is little information on injuries caused by collisions between humans and collaborative robot systems. Thus, the occupational medical assessment can prove to be difficult.
