Errors in medicine and safety culture are no longer foreign words in German medicine. Politics and most medical faculties have recognized them as an opportunity to improve the quality of the health service and are ready to start analyzing data in detail. Thus the data and experience from expert reports on errors in medicine produced by the expert panels of medical insurance companies (MDK) could make a valuable contribution.
